I don’t know if it’s because I was born on the Pacific coast or if I’m just a beach bride at heart. This boho surf styled shoot from Maui, Hawaii is full of effortlessly cool surf style, and bohemian, indie vibes. Teamed with bright colours, a 1975 VW camper van and the cutest little dog, called Spaghetti Von Pickles, this intimate styled shoot has all the boho-bride, surfer-groom, beach-wedding goals!
Maui has a lively bohemian culture and is a destination for all things beach and surf. Paia is the mecca for all things boho; lots of cute boutiques, cafés and impromptu beach parties happen frequently. So the beach was the perfect place for this boho surf styled shoot!
The models, Kylene and Ryan, live and play on Maui together with their 8 month old puppy. Their 1975 VW bus is a central part of their lives, being used for weekend surf outings and camping under the stars.
The props and styling are a mix of textures, colours and patterns. Including some rustic elements, teaming them with metallics, bold pops of colour and of course all the stunning flowers and foliage!
The gold detailing and jewel tones keep this styled look bang on trend. The variety rich colours, textures and fabrics give this boho surf styled shoot a chic sophistication.
A vintage VW camper is the perfect accessory for any boho, indie-glam wedding. This bright orange one sets the tone and style for the whole shoot. Maybe that’s another reason why I love this styled shoot so much. When I lived in San Francisco with my mum, we had a camper just like one and would often go on trips in it.
Beach weddings are always beautiful, but they don’t get much more beautiful that this one. If I could have an intimate boho beach wedding with my closest friends and family – and my dog – it would look just like this!
