For years there weren’t any bridal shops in Navan, Co. Meath, then in 2017, two opened up. Lots of brides often visit a few bridal shops in one day or weekend and Navan was the missing link in the North East. So, of course, I got in touch with the owners and visited these fab new bridal shops.
MK Bridal
Owned by Mairead Kennedy who is from Navan, Co. Meath. MK Bridal is located in the old Ulster bank on Railway Street – complete with a walk in safe! This bridal shop has the most stunning window displays, they made me stop in the street. A signature throughout MK Bridal, both in the shop and online, there are florals everywhere! Lining the windows, a huge floral ring in the door, throughout the shop and even floral crowns to try on with your dress. My kind of bridal shop!
Apart from the stunning florals, you will also notice the dark teal walls and funky furnishings in MK Bridal. This bridal shop has a very contemporary, funky feel and that goes for their dresses too! It’s completely different from all the other bridal shops I’ve ever seen. So if you’re a boho-bride looking for that dream dress, make sure you check out MK Bridal in Navan, Co. Meath.

Appointments are 90 minutes and they provide all in-house alterations. Mairead also provides alterations for dresses that haven’t been purchased there too. Great for brides who have bought a dress but haven’t found a good seamstress.

I’ve actually just finished working on a couple of online articles for the Wedding Journal. This post on flattering tips for the plus size bride, and another post with my accessorizing tips for the bohemian bride.
If you’re on the hunt for the perfect wedding dress, make sure you give Navan, Co. Meath a visit. It’s 45 mins outside Dublin, straight up the M3 motorway. Both bridal shops have paid street parking facilities right outside. There’s also great shops for bridesmaids, MOTB and wedding guests, if you want to make a day of it. Navan is 30 mins from Drogheda {another great place for bridal shops}, and 50 mins from Mullingar.
