So today there I was, walking up the main street of Navan, Co. Meath and I almost lost my life with excitement when I saw some of my favourite beauty brands in the window of a shop I was sure I hadn’t seen before! Of course, I had to s t o p | e v e r y t h i n g I was doing and head straight into the shop!
It’s actually been open almost 4 weeks, how I didn’t know this or find this shop before then I don’t know; it’s not tucked away, it’s right there, on Trimgate street! So it’s called Mise Beauty, as in “is mise {insert your name here}, which translated from Irish into English means “I am Gabriella.” If I could describe this shop, it’s like Space NK, only it’s Irish and has some fab little gems that Space NK doesn’t. I have already justified any excessive purchases I know I’m destined to make, by the fact that I will no longer be spending extra money on petrol and parking from going all the way down to Dublin for these brands, they are now literally on my doorstep, fabulous! This is actually the second Mise Beauty store, the first one opened in Dundalk. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can find in the Navan store for all you beauty and skincare junkies!
Skincare
Skincare is my first love, and this was what originally drew my attention as I was sauntering by this morning. I literally squealed with delight when I saw that they stock {a very large range~} Pixi by Petra beauty products. I live and die for this brand, I’ve raved about their products loads of times, with the Pixi Glow Tonic and Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser my absolute favourites. If you know and love this brand, who will know it is nigh on impossible to find in Ireland! Marks & Spencers stock it in some of their stores, but there’s never enough stock of the cult products, and the one or two that do come in, fly off the shelves just as quick. Which leaves you with UK online shopping, and between exchange rates and almost 2 week lead times, it’s a nightmare! Mise has the latest offerings from Pixi such as the Glow Peel Pads, Glow Mud Cleanser {which is still sold out on Cult Beauty!} and the Nourishing Cleansing Balm.
Mise also stock Oskia, quite a pricey skincare range, but ridiculously good for those with lines, and I don’t mean fine lines, I mean real, proper lines; wrinkles and anti-ageing concerns – this skincare range actually works. My personal favourites are the Nutri-Active Day Cream and Restoration Oil – both of which are in store at Mise.
Caudalie are also stocked, and I don’t mean just a few products from their range, I mean pretty much all of them! Thank you Mise!!! This is a really great, affordable brand of skincare, my favourites are the Beauty Elixir facial spray, definitely a cult beauty product, and their range of facial masks {middle shelf on the left}, which are just €24 – actually cheaper if you buy here, rather than from the UK.
Other popular ranges you can find at Mise are Nip + Fab, Pestle & Mortar, Ren and Trilogy.
Haircare
Loads of fab hair care products are available in Mise. I let out another shriek each time I found one of them dotted around the shop. The loudest shout was when I saw the cult hair product range that is Rahua – which I still don’t know how to pronounce properly. Do you like Megan Fox’s long, luscious, dark hair? She puts it down to this brand of luxury haircare to keep everything looking sleek and in tip top condition. Gweneth Paltrow is another celeb reported to love this range. My personal favourite is the Omega 9 Hair Mask. {argh! I didn’t get a picture of the Rahua range!}
On the top shelf I also spotted CoLab – a range of dry shampoo’s which you can add to your list of cult products. Created and developed by Ruth Crilly from A Model Recommends and other beauty experts such as the Chapman sisters who brought us the Real Techniques make up brushes – which can also be found at Mise.
I was pleasantly surprised to see some Kardashian Beauty products, which I know have recently launched with Cloud10 Beauty, and you can now find in Mise, Navan, Co. Meath.
Beauty & Make Up
Well, first up, Mise stocks all of the Beauty Blender offerings, and I can’t wait for the new, hotly-anticipated Liner Designer from Beauty Blender, which is supposedly going to help us all achieve that perfect cat eye, winged eyeliner. I’ll keep you posted on that one…..
Also spotted were Z-palettes. If you watch any YouTube beauty vloggers, you would have seen these little magnetic cases which hold all your refillable powder products, such as blushers, highlighting powders and eyeshadows.
Lottie nail varnishes and makeup brushes are available in Mise, along with Olivia Palermo’s collaboration with Ciaté.
But oh my, oh my, oh my, there, right at the back is the glory that is Kevin Aucoin! I am still obsessed with his Candlelight Highlighter, his liquid highlighter is on my must-buy list and his makeup brushes are fab too! Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of that either, but there’s some other great makeup ranges down the back of the shop definitely worth checking out. At that point, I was in such a beauty-crazed frenzy, I had to go and have a teacup brownie afterwards just to calm down. January diet out the window! It’s totally random I know, but if you haven’t tried one yet, you need, literally need, to go to The Tea Rooms on Metges Lane and order one, they are a little piece of chocolately heaven in a tea cup! They’ve also been nominated for the Best Café in the 2016 Irish Restaurant Awards.
Mise Beauty are on Trimgate street in Navan, you can find them on Facebook here, Instagram here or go on their website here. Happy Shopping! Times like these I’m so glad I don’t have a hubby or joint bank account as there would surely be some awkward conversations at the end of each month!
